My daughter was in a play ("The Crucible") and needed a costume. Of course it was a very specific costume.
We had the black boots and the black shirt (though it has a bit too much shine for my taste). We had an old blanket for a shawl. But, the LONG black skirt. Where would we get that?
Then inspiration hit!
Remember this Prom dress from March that I beaded the front? Yeah, that dress. I remembered that the skirt and bodice were sewn together. So out came the seam ripper - RIIIIP. Took the bodice off, shortened the zipper and a long black skirt for $0 from a dress she was never going to wear again!
