While my girl LOVED her blanket, she really wanted it wider to wrap up in at night. I still had leftover yarn from making it, so I made two more strips, cut and removed the border, added the 2 strips and redid the border. Sounds harder than it was (other than getting the old border off as it felted a bit). It was 46" by 78" now it is 65" by 78".
So instead of 5 strips, it now has seven.
The plaid is a super easy thing to do.
It is done holding 2 strands of yarn at the same time. So one strip is 2 black, a black and purple and repeat. The other strip is 2 purple, a black and purple, repeat. Can be done with any two colors. I used Caron One Pound Black and Deep Violet.
Lumberjack Flannelghan pattern.
