I got this pattern from a FaceBook group called M@ssy Buns & Beanies - Free Patterns Only. It is called M@ssey Bun Cable Hat by Bell! Haken & Zoo. I cannot link directly to it. There is a video here though. I used an I hook and that Caron One Pound Deep Violet I have laying around.
This was a nice repeating pattern that looks good no matter how big or small you need to make it. I would change how the top is finished if I made another and I added a row of SC to the bottom to make the edge look more finished. Just be careful with the starting chain. I did 80ch for the starting chain which measured 20" before starting the cables. Measuring after the hat was completed it is a 24" opening!
