So I had been asked and had accepted a new protege (student). I was going to do a small ceremony for her at DSH Investiture and was looking for a way to make it special for her. I decided to do an indenture scroll. An indenture is a legal agreement, contract or document. To indenture someone is to bind them by an indenture as an apprentice or laborer. Since the word indentured has a horrible past, I was very careful in my wording of the agreement between us. .Both sides of the document read the same.
It reads: "All shall know that this indenture made the 23rd day of February in our home Barony at Dragonship Haven Investiture during the reign of Wilhelm and Vienna, King and Queen, Anno Societatis LIII, bears witness that Lady Isabella d'Allaines le Comte has become protege to Maistress Temair ingen Muiredaich. During this indenture, Lady Isabella shall do no willful damage to her Maistress, through words, actions, or physical harm, to her or her property. In return, Maistress Temair pledges pledges the same and shall diligently guide and counsel Lady Isabella in the love of service and duty, or cause her to be guided by others in all matters she deems fit and appropriate. This indenture is to be reviewed and renewed annually within Our Barony upon the occasion of Balfar's Challenge as long as we both agree or until the Monarchs demand her fealty directly."
