Action shots of me working at the Brookfield Craft Center.
You start by making a bead on the rod in the background color you want (white).
Then you make a clear disc that stands out from the rod. On this you will place dots of varying colors. Disc failure was common during this trial.
Keep the whole thing evenly heated.
Now heating to get the disc to curl over the bead.

Getting it to close evenly

Melting the eyes in
Hot bead off the kiln. Watching it cool to the correct temp before placing it in the kiln or it will lose it's shape and stick to the fibercloth.
Still cooling - almost ready for the kiln
A warm pumpkin bead and the heat sink we roll them on.
