Mirror Gilding Class at Pennsic 48 (2019) taught at Guild Mirandola. Making the egg glair was a bit disgusting as we had to grab the yolks and let the whites slide in. So no pics of that.
Next we made sure that our glass was super clean and we painted it with the glair.
Then we applied gold leaf. This is not my piece :(
The wind came along and my gold leaf did some very ugly things. You cannot get it back off or apply another layer.
I turned it over and I saw a fish, so I went with it.
You scrape away the gold to make accent lines.
