Drawn and Pulled Thread Coaster

This was a kit leftover from my Mom.  It says Coaster - Mini Beginner's Kit - The Picot Stitch by The Dove's Eye.  The kit came with one 5" by 5" square of Hardanger fabric, q No. 22 tapestry needle, No. 5 perle cotton and No. 8 perle cotton.  The instructions were not fabulous and my tension was not fabulous either.  I had some trouble with the "picots".  The instructions gave 2 ways of doing them and neither worked well for me (thus no picots in the center square).

Stitches Used: Kloster Block, Weaving, Picot, Eyelet, Cable Stitch and Blanket Stitch.

Finished front of the piece

Finished back of the piece

Blanket stitch around the outside edge of the Kloster blocks

The eyelets in between the Kloster blocks

Cut and pulled the threads.  That was harder than I thought it would be.

Wrap the threads (weaving) in a figure 8 and put on the "picots"

Then worked the "cable" stitch on the inside of the Kloster blocks

Then cut it out of the fabric - pretty tricky!
The piece of fabric I cut it out of.
