Bee in Whitework Embroidery by Rachel Doyle
The bee is done on 28tpi white linen using No. 12 perle cotton.
Stitches used are: running stitch (first outline of body - to move from body part to body part), whipped back stitch (legs and antennae - backstitch first and then whip), pulled satin stitch (body), three sided stitch (wings) and stem stitch over the running stitch (around the body to finish).
Paneled for Athena's Thimble at Pennsic on 8/9/2022 and recieved Competence in Open Work
