So I submitted the original work (visit here) on 7/24/2021 at a virtual Keepers of Athena’s Thimble panel.
I hated the black micron pen marks, so it was bound for the garbage or give away. I had been considering appliqué into the holes, but how crazy would that have been? Someone suggested a hatch pattern, so I attempted it. Next time I will mark n the grid starting/stopping points so it looks better.
Additional materials: Gütermann polyester sewing thread color 488 and DMC rayon Mouline Satin embroidery floss color S310.
I still need to tack down the Xs but it looks a bit better. I need to be a bit more careful trying to come up under the existing metal work with the embroidery needle. With Flash.
