Viking Penannular Brooches

Class taught by THL Wilhelm Smydle of Aethelmearc.

Our instructor

You start by wrapping the copper around the jig and putting in the "pins" to hold it in place.

Using a wood block, we bend the ends into a circle.

We have achieved a circle with a thumbs width left between the ends.

Proof of the thumbs width.

A look at the jig, anvil and clamp set up

Beating the ends flat.

Mistress Alistrina de Mann's is on top and mine is on the bottom (closer).  We were given sandpaper to bring the pin end to a point after class.
