Viking Wire Weave Basics

Class taught by Lady Sorcha Inghean Ui Choinin of the East.  The kit was fabulous and included the wire, a stick, the octopus and a drawing board!

The lovely octopus the class named Fred.  You start by anchoring.

Then loop through the octopus loops or "feet"

Then continue looping or button hole stitch to the right

Trying to stay "straight" to keep the loops open

Mistress Alistrina is cooking along in copper.  You take it off by winding a larger piece of wire through the ends to hold them together and you will use this larger piece of wire to pull through the draw plate and then you can use it to finalize your piece through an end cap and jump ring/hook.

Our finished bracelets.  Mine is too big and I will have to go back and cut it shorter.  I only went down to the 1/4" hole and the bracelet grew 3".
