Laurel Wreath for Sugawara Naeme

I volunteered to do an embroidery piece for an upcoming elevation. Eleanor Grey, Sugawara Naeme's apprentice sister coordinated the embroidery for her Laurel mo (cloak). The front ribbons will each have six embroidered laurel wreaths, in ascending rainbow colors. I was given green to do.

The fabric and thread were provided. The ground is a silk cotton blend and the floss is Splendor S829.

Stitches include a raised chain band stitch for the center of the stems using 2 threads. Outline stitch using 2 threads is used for outside the leaves and their stems and a single thread outline around the main stem. Then a satin stitch using 2 threads to fill in the leaves.

Raised chain band stitch

Raised chain band stitch completed and starting the outline stitch for the leaves and stem

Outline completed.  I really kind of like it this way.

Started to fill the leaves

One side completed

Both sides completed but the center stem bugged me

Outlined the center stem using a single thread - ran out of thread or might have done the leaf stems too.
