Roman Chiton at Pennsic LII

My daughter wanted a new dress for the Bacchanal on Monday of War Week.  I went shopping on Saturday with a friend and we found nothing that looked vaguely Romanesque enough so I purchased the gauze at Carolina Calico and trim at Calontir Trim.  I sewed Saturday night, Sunday night and managed to finish it Monday morning for my daughter to wear.  It is all handsewn.  All the seams, edging and trim.  Luckily I had the right color threads and some needles with me.  I even made it to her specifications (no side boobage showing but be able to drop one side down if she wanted and short).  Good top know I "can" but don't want to again :)

A happy girl on her way to the bacchanal

Me testing the "head hole"

Testing the armholes.  I decided to sew it all the way up

The finished garment (that's a lot of handsewing...)

My idea for the buttons so that she could drop one side to show a boob as she had seen others do in previous years.  She says she tried it and it worked.
