I made a quick Laurel leaf for Hannah de Avila, Baroness, Kingdom of the Outlands for her elevation to the Order of the Laurel. The directions were thus: Fiber artists: make leaves 2.5" x 1" or so. So I drew out a leaf, traced it onto some felt I had laying around and stitched it up quickly. Quickly for me means about 3.5 hours or so including interruptions and being slow at satin stitch.
I used regular cotton floss. 6-strand on the outline stitch around the leaf, 2-strands for the satin stitch (both yellow and green) and 4-strands for the center stem outline stitch.
It's very simple and I hope she likes all the leaves she get from people.
