More Wire Ring Largesse

I really enjoy these easy rings.  16" of 18 gauge wire can make a variety of sizes.  I put little thank you charms on them and used them to thank people (especially the judges who volunteered) for helping me at St. Eligius.  The video I used is available on TikTok.

I had some old Modacraft Jewelry Wire sitting around that worked beautifully for the silver, but I didn't have any gold.  So I purchased some wire on Amazon (mistake 1) and purchased brands I was unfamiliar with (mistake 2).  The wire is made by Ouwinway and their 18 gauge measures at 0.8mm (0.03") which is 20 gauge - softer than I wanted to use for the rings.  I measured the silver and copper I had purchased and they also came in at 20 gauge.  Grrrr.  I made the rings anyway, as I was hoping with them being triple wrapped they'd be stronger, but no luck.

I was happy with the thank you charms and jump rings I purchased - just don't buy off brand wire.

I need to work on keeping the 3 loops tighter when I wrap so that they don't stack like they did in some of the rings - but that also has to do with it not being a hard enough wire.
